What to do, what to do - Part IV

Mae's surgery was scheduled for tomorrow.

Lil man and I had planned, tonight, to clean out Buddy's crate and put it in Julie's pickup so we could pick Mae up tomorrow afternoon.

The vet just called.

They had a cancellation, so the surgery was today. Mae is fine. We will still pick her up tomorrow so that she can rest tonight.

There were 9 puppies.

Now, there are no puppies. There will never be puppies. Mae can come home - or at least back to the wrecking yard next to me where she lives.

We will still feed her. We will still love her. She will still wander off and roam the neighborhood.

She will not bring more unwanted puppies into this world.

Thank all of you so much for your support.

PS: The doctor used dissolvable stitches because we are NEVER gonna get our hands on this dog again.

PPS: The bill was less than 1/2 of what I thought it would be!

Glad the surgery went well and that you've helped the world by preventing more "unwanted" litters. And Mae looks like such a pretty dog! She's lucky to have found a friend in you.

Happy ending, well, you know what I mean. Don't you feel so sorry for those animals waiting to be adopted when that commercial with Sarah MacLaughlin singing "In the Arms of an Angel" comes on tv? But then I always think of all those children everywhere that need to be adopted and it makes me even sadder. We have an adopted boy from Chile with World Vision and my daughter has an adopted girl from Uganda.

Due to the amount of dogoodery you've done for Mae, I've given you an award. Yay Mae!

Oh, and I'm one of those people that would love to contribute to Mae's upkeep.

Catwoman - she is a pretty little thing. Thanks for the good thoughts.

Karmyn - Me, too!

Junebug - How wonderful of you and your daughter! I keep telling my daughter that we can all only do what we can do.

Laurie and AFF - I so appreciate the offer but actually have this handled. If you still want to do something, though, I am sure that your local shelter would love to have some receiving blankets and/or flannel remnants. Food and such are usually taken of, but so often these puppies just need a "hug". Thanks again.

The art masterpiece story was great... I read it this morning.

The others... I, like you, chose not to read.

Glad the dog is on the mend. If I was a curser (cursor? heh heh) I'd heap em on the people who dropped her off.

will do, sandy. we sent the shelter a big supply of Kong balls and other toys after we adopted riley from them. but sadly we have been remiss in recent years of showing our appreciation. so i'll do that.

You are an angel in disguise. I'm so glad the surgery went ok. Tomorrow, I'm off to donate a big bag of toys and treats and stuff to my local SPCA.

Thank goodness that's all over. Maybe Mae will get a little more snuggly now?

Probably not though.
