Fall into Reading

I found this wonderful idea when I was reading one of the Anglophile Football Fanatic's blogs. I have always been a reader. I truly cannot remember when I did not read.
Nowadays, it seems as though all I read are blogs and while I love y'all, I do love a good book, also. As a matter of fact, hardback books are what I get my kids and grandkids for Christmas every year. It was a great idea when I started but with 17 grandkids now, it's getting just a wee bit on the pricy side. Oh well, it is hard to think of money better spent.
Anyway, here is my list of books that I hope (no, intend) to have read by December 21st. A couple of classics and a whole lot of mind candy. Some days I just read to escape rather than to learn, you know.
Happy reading, everyone.

Playing for Pizza..........................John Grisham
Play Dirty....................................Sandra Brown
Free Fall ....................................Fern Michaels
High Noon...................................Nora Roberts
Shoot Him if He Runs....................Stuart Woods
Justice Denied............................. J.A. Jance
Double Take............................... Catherine Coulter
Knit Together.............................. Debbie Macomber
Mad Dash.................................... Patricia Gaffney
What Matters Most........................ Luanne Rice
Lean Mean 13............................... Janet Evanovich
6th Target.................................... James Patterson
Wuthering Heights........................ Emily Bronte
Rebels of Ireland:
The Dublin Saga........................... Edward Rutherford
Lord John and the Brotherhood
of the Blade............................Diana Gabaldon

That's an impressive list! and you're going to read them all in a little over two months? I used to be able to read a couple of books a week but anymore I feel fortunate if I get the time to read at all. It typically takes me about a month to finish a book, just reading in the tub and right before bed. Then I read a second book to my husband while he drives and we finish some fast, some slow, depends on how much we go. :)

I just read the new Nicholas Sparks -- it was retty good. I like the idea of a reading "wish list." I read a lot, too. Thanks for the inspiration!

wowser, that's quite a list.

i really enjoyed the "rebels of ireland." it's quite long, but engrossing. most of those other books i'm not familiar with.

but whatever you choose to read, it'll be great! a blanket, a dog at your feet, a cup of tea...and a big thick engaging book.

happy reading!

Lisa - I love that you read to your husband! My husband and I used to drive truck together and I would inevitably start a book, get a hundred or so pages into it and then decide that I needed to share. We actually read all of the Outlander series by Gabaldon that way. Thanks for refreshing my memory of that time.

Swampy - I actually have a job where I can read when I'm not busy - or when I'm not blogging.

Bermudabluez - I'm hoping that I will get through the majority of them anyway. I'll let y'all know how I do.

Maria - you're welcome

Laurie - yep, got the blanket, the cup of tea, the dog in my lap, the dog at my feet, the dog on my shoulder...lol

I finally read one stinking book in six weeks by reading it every day for fifteen minutes, waiting in the car for my son after school. It's not the most relaxing way to read but I finally got it done! Good luck on your list!
