This weeks hostess for Fun Monday is Mariposa. She asked for 2 things this week.
1. Why is your blog named the name it is?
2. Your favorite dish
The first one if pretty easy. In my family, it has always been a joke, whenever one of us messed up the pronounciation of a word, that it was OK. That it was now just your own word. If you were ever called to testify in court and the attorney said, "in your own words", you would have some. The problem is that we seldom remember our own words.
There are exceptions. My daughter, when she was little, and my mom was teaching her to play poker, would take her cards and go behind the couch. Mom would ask her what she was doing and Juls would say that she was "suitagorizing" her cards. We still suitagorize our cards.
The name of my blog is one of my own words. It is the meanderings of my own mind. Hence myanderings.
Now, for my favorite dish. Those of you who read me often can just quit now. I have written about this pasta dish more than once. Just as a side note, however, I made this again on Saturday. I did not have chicken broth so I used beef. It turned out great again.

Yum, we love your picky eaters pasta!
Of course, my blog is called The Park Wife because I am the wife of a state park Superintendent/Ranger.
For my favorite dish, it changes often. But right now I am loving me some hot wings and homemade Ranch dressing!
it is funny that suitagroize is the only one i remember....lol
Ok, I have bacon, spaghetti, chicken broth and onion! Smells delish, hope it is as good as you say! :)
We have "I mean it" for "Amen", and the standby psgetti. Surely some others!
I love suitagorize! Your post makes me want to pay attention to my kids' "own words." I'm sure there are some beauts! Thanks for the dish, too -- I'll be trying it I am sure.
My question is why did you meander/myander twice. Did someone already have myanderings singular?
junebug - yes. that someone would be me! I cannot remember the password and have changed my email since, etc....terrible to have to admit my own stupidity...lol.
I need to start using suitagorize. It's a great word!
I've always liked the name of your blog. Like Nikki I love the word 'suitagorizing' I must remember it for the next time I play cards with the grandchildren!
I remember that great looking pasta dish :)
Good approach to naming a blog--following a family quirk--in a very good way. And your title so aptly describes what we do in blogging--myandering.
I like the name. Sometimes, made up words are the best words.
I understand the problem with forgetting a password to the singular. Remember when we only had one two passwords?.....Now, I have two entire pages. If all else fails, create a new account.
Love pasta! And you have a nice blog name!
Oh I so love made up personal words. your daughters and yours is great! Thanks for the recipe, too!!
I totally just ripped off your fun monday graphic. Did you make it or find it somewhere? It made me hungry!
Suitagorize - that is funny! We "shake" our cards (shuffle)...
I like the whole idea of meandering around thoughts....love the blog name!
Btw, I think you can use chicken or pork in the Laksa Lemak. Its really those spices that gives it the wonderful taste. And, you can use spaghetti instead of the traditional laksa noodles.
I pronounced epitome as "epi-tome" for five years -- and my husband and I use the word 'chicken' to refer to the squawking state of the unfettered psyche, all brain and emotion, everything. So we ask: "How's your chicken?"
I love to cook pasta! And I love your story about how you came up with your name..."suitagorizing" ha! Happy FM!
The name is as I assumed. :) And I should not be surprised to see that dish again. You have liked it so much maybe I should try it.
I love all those cute little "made up" words, especially when kids come up with them. They are so very creative!!
I love made up words, too. And, I have always loved your blog name.
I am from the south originally. It is interesting that all of the words I grew up with were always followed up with, "huh?" "What did you say?". And many truly thought I made up words. I have learned to accept any and all forms of speech, becoz I can - ya'll
And any form of pasta is wonderful - I also like the rice. Hope to see you meandering around... NLM
I wish I'd written down a dictionary of all those misspoken words I've heard.
My bosses mother does it ALL the time. (Like when her daughter went to the hospital to be induced... she told family members she went to the hospital to get seduced.)
I love the way you came up with your title...and your pasta dish looks wonderful..I will have to try it!!
I like the play on words in your blog title. And I'm going to have to give that pasta a shot.
Yum.
Thanks for dropping by my blog.
My dad always made up words when we were kids, and it drove us mad - so he did it more. An example:
Blessing Gown = Dressing Gown
suitagorize indeed! i can't wait for my little boy to start talking! :D
we had shlepping booty in our house for many, many months. was a sad day why my oldest lost her lisp. ;-p But the little one has started talking now, so we'll be getting more of these soon.
Gosh! I missed out on fun monday. Your family sounds like mine! LOL!
I love that recipe!!!
I've always loved your name. It definitely communicates.
The pasta dish sounds good. I'm looking forward to trying it later this week.
