Ribbit, redux

Sunday morning, I did not have to be at work until 10. Lil Man, Juls, and I decided to take the Grampits out for breakfast. Julie was going to meet us there.

I backed out of the driveway, put the car in drive, and started down the street. Buddy, who was unconfinable, was running down the bar ditch, as always.

Unlike always, he turned left. I hit him and killed him. I killed my husband's dog on Father's Day morning. I should have sent him to Australia.

Rest in peace, Buddy.

There are no words. I wish I could give you a real hug right now, but this will have to do. {{{{{HUG}}}}}

Yep, he would have been safer here, they only get their legs broken when the car hits them!

Oh, I'm so sorry. I know that's a very sad thing to have happen. It's happened to us before.

Nothing I say will make you feel better -- but just pretend I'm there crying with you. I'm good for that.

I'm so very sorry! I can only imagine how heartbroken you must feel, but I know that with your love of animals, you must have done everything you could to avoid it.

Oh Sandy! Unfortunately I understand your pain. My father did that to our dog when I was little.

It was an honest situation no one could have or would have guessed would happen.

I've hit my own pet with a car before (she ran out to meet me and I didn't see her). My dad's done that too. I can't think of many things that feel worse than that. Hugs for you, friend. And your husband too.
