This week's Round Robin challenge is "Landmarks". This was indeed a challenge for me. Oh, I could have gone 50 miles up the road to the Cadillac Ranch or 50 miles east to the Palo Duro Canyon but I tried to stay in my home town. Any guesses what we do here?
Our town's population is somewhere right around 15,000. Our feedyards' population is somewhere right around 1,500,000.
Our high school teams are named after cattle - the official name is the Whitefaces.
Our movie theatre is named (sort of) after cows.
We know who we are!

I love the pictures! It's so funny when a town has such a concrete identity. There's a town in south western Iowa that is 100% rodeo-related. It's cute. ;)
Hi Sandy :)
What a MOOOOOving entry! LOL. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Tee Hee. I love seeing places like this, which fully embrace who they are. Thank you for showing us your little corner of the world, and the landmarks that make it home. :) Fun.
Always, Carly
Hey Gal...consider yourself tagged. I don't know what happened to your link on my post. I put it there around Midnight...then I thought about putting the names in ABC order and messed around moving them, then decided against it, and in the process, must have deleted you. How does that make you feel?
Are you still with me?
By the time you read all of the nonsense, your link on the MeMe will be back up.
Ha. (insert witch's cackle here)
"Where's the "Eat Mor Chiken" sign?
I like your cattle pictures. We used to have a very big bull in front of a meat market in town. Town ordinances said the bull was a violation. Now, a neighboring town has OUR landmark.
Thank you for the comment you left for CJ... It means a lot!

Cows are the best! ;-) I like it that your town is so almost all-consuming in identifying with their vast presence there. I have sometimes wondered how we were able to keep up with the demand for beef in this country; I think that now I know. ;-) Super shots!
Wow. I've lived in a "cowtown" before, but your community really goes for it! What fun pictures!
What a great post! Hey if you got 'em, flaunt 'em! (Cows that is.) ;^P
Well...aint that bovine.
heh heh.
or.. that's a lot of bull..
there must be something clever one can sat about a cow town.
I agree with Carly, very moooving ;-)

Oh that's wonderful, you live in Cow town, lol ! Do you collect them like I do with cats ? Collecting little cows is very in fashion right now. We had a cow exposition all over Brussels (just 8 miles from Waterloo) cows made by different artists with all sort of pattern. My neighbor bought one for 2.500 € and now it sits in their front yard and mooooes, lol !
i'm glad you didn't go anywhere else. these are great photos of landmarks in your hometown. great job!! :)
I love your landmarks! Your pictures are great and really show them off well. Those cows are cool!
Our old realtor's slogan is "are you ready to moove?". Her vehicles are white with black patches to resemble the cow. We don't have cattle here, that's just her thing.
Love how everything in your town becomes "one with the cows". And the poor things don't know what's coming... :-)
hahahah mooovies! I LOVE it!
More cattle than people and Moooovies. Terrific pictures. My cousin from Texas always remarks that he doesn't have nightmares, he has nightcows... (Boooooo-vine)
I don't think I could take the smell there in the summer! I'm not real fond of cow smells. But I like your photos and the Mooovie Theatre. :)
Very moo-ving photos. Love big cows etc. and now I am craving a steak...
Wow. Next time someone asks "Where's the beef?" I'll know where to send 'em. LOL
Great, fun pics!
;-)
