Fun Monday - Looking Back

Our hostess this week, and for the rest of the month is Faye at Summit Musings. She said,

"Your assignment for October 4 is to share a favorite family photo(s)and tell us why this particular photo means so much to you."

This is one of the few pictures that I have of my childhood. There are 4 children in my family but, as my brother-in-law always said, my parents raised 4 only children. Here is their youngest, me, at somewhere around 2 years old and just pleased as punch to be drinking coffee from a thermos.

Sorry for the poor quality but it is a photo of a photo. Now go and look at everyone else's old pics.

Great picture though, even if its a bit dark! Were they building a house? We used to sneak coffee too - back when my mom drank hers with cream and sugar. We stopped when she decided to start drinking it black...

It think this is rally a fun photo. Looks as if you had a "job", at 2 years old!

I don't remember if dad ever let me taste his coffee. But I do recall that mom finally moved his chair to the other end of the table so he wouldn't spill it on our backs when he walked back after a refill.

I would like to more about the four "only" children.

I can tell you were a cute kid ---

my kid likes to drink her coffee, too. we have let her (hubby) have sips of it, but got wise and have given her hot chocolate instead! I drank coffee from about 5 years old and gave it up in high school because I'd get migraines if i forgot to drink it or didnt' have time. Now I have a cup or two whenever my husband does, which is generally only on the weekend!

You proabably love this photo because you have your parents all to yourslf at that moment. I remember drinking the coffee that spilled out on the saucer of my Moms daily cup. She drank instant coffee so it really was not strong.

Looks like you were in the middle of constructing a home at the time? I remember my mom would give me a dixie cup full of her coffee when I was little. I thought that was really special.

Everybody needs a bit of a break on the construction site, right? And how grownup to have your own coffee from the community thermos. Little ones in my family got "coffee mild" which was just a dribble of coffee in our milk glasses. How grownup!

Oops! Make that "coffee milk."

Thank you for sharing. It's lovely to look back. Building your own houses how marvellous, but very hard work. And the old thermos...ours was always filled with tea and had a separate bottle for the milk.
