My favorite room is not in my house. My favorite room is now, and has been for years, the reading room at the public library.
I love books.
I cannot afford all of the books, papers, and periodicals that I love. Thank goodness I do not have to. I am blessed to live in a small town with a wonderful library that is part of a consortium of libraries in this area. If we do not have it, our lovely librarians will get it for me.
The chairs are comfy, the temperature is generally warmer than I am keeping my house this winter, and while silence is no longer required, there is a sense of peace and calm.
Thanks for stopping by and see you in the comment section on everyone else's posts.

Great favorite room,Sandy. I don't feel that way about our big city library here in Louisville, but I do remember how welcoming my college town library was. Like your librarians, ours helped you find exactly what you wanted to read. And let's not forget being able to check out a full year of a magazine you couldn't afford.
I couldn't agree more with you on why this is your fave!
That's also nice, the most important is that you feel well where you are !
I would love to have a place like that - but alas, our public library is also the hangout for teens, kids, and the homeless. It is not very peaceful anymore (tile floors make it less so). I much prefer our local bookstore for that kind of activity. It's carpeted, has big comfy chairs AND a coffee bar!
Ah, a kindred soul. As a child, I could often be found in the floor of the local library, leaned against a shelf, reading any number of books and magazines. I still love the library. Great selection.
Our small town has a great Library also...I think its wonderful that you enjoy going there and feel peace n comfort. Thanks for sharing Sandy n Happy FM
The library is a wonderfully quiet place to spend time. Now why didn't I think of that!
That is a great "getaway" place to go to and feel your inner peace. Away from all the home distractions.
what a great idea for enjoying someone elses investment in reading material AND heating oil. ha ha.
Isn't that the truth? Ahh, peace and quiet. Oh and my link was wrong, but it's corrected on the second one now!
I love our library. We live in a small town and the ladies are very friendly. Books are great friends. lol
great room! unfortunately they have shut down one library in our town and the others have reduced their hours
Sandy I fixed my blog. It no longer says spitin' seeds. I forgot all about that. LOL Thanks.
