This week's hostess is Sayre at Sayre Smiles (which title always makes me smile). Her quest?
Let me preface this by saying that I LOVE cars. Specifically, I love fast cars. The first car that I owned was a 1968 Ford Mustang. My husband and I owned it together. We bought it right after our baby was born. It was a very cool, young family car. It was destroyed in a car accident. In case any of you ever wondered which car would win - a Ford Mustang or an Oldsmobile Toronado - it's the Toronado.
My favorite car? That's a toss-up between my mom's 68 Ford Galaxie and my 1980 Chevy Scottsdale 4x4 pickup truck, lovingly nicknamed the "Amok Truck". My mom's Ford was fine-tuned by my cousins and ran the wheels off of most everything I put it up against, not that I ever did.
My pickup? Just fun. I lived in the Mojave desert when I owned it and went 4-wheeling a lot with some really great people. I have fond memories of that pickup. It's what I was driving when Shorty and I started dating. As a matter of fact, the pink slip was in the mail when we got back from our honeymoon. Great pickup and even better times.
My current car? I have two - a surfeit of blessings. My favorite current? A 1999 Mercury Cougar. This car is one of the great under-advertised vehicles of all time. I bought it because I liked how it looked. The first time I drove it through a Panhandle thunderstorm, I loved it. The first time I passed a semi, looked down and saw the speedometer at 130 and she hadn't even breathed hard, I fell in love. She is still a great car. A little the worse for wear but she got a new transmissison a couple of years ago and is still getting over 30 mph on the highway.
My very favorite car? My next car, of course. Moose and I have our sights set on a Lincoln Navigator. I think it's the heated seats.

Our feeling, yea or nay, about a car has a lot to do with what was going on in our lives when we were driving them. Pick ups carry good memories but have a hard time, after a certain age, competing with heated seats. :-)
Muscle car lady, huh? I think a Cougar would fit quite well into my series of cars, but for now I need to do things like haul baseball equipment and dogs - not quite muscle car territory. I do love them though!
Thanks for playing!
Ahhhhh..heated seats...can't get any better then that. Pure luxury!
I don't think I'd like heated seats, I think they'd just annoy me, but then again, I love my pick up. Jealous of your '68 Stang, as I am sure most people are. Cute Fun Monday pic by the way, nice job on that!
So, your Mustang lost the race? Too bad. My hubby was the proud owner of a 69 Mach I Mustang. It was the boss!
I wouldn't mind my next vehicle being a Lincoln Navigator. They are classy.
130 mph... wooo hooo girl. Days of thunder... and lightning!
